USEM: Journal of Languages, Linguistics and Literature, is a publication of the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, University of Uyo. It is published annually. However, Supplements are published occasionally as the need arises. This volume: Supplement 1, is published in honour of Dr. Senam Okon Ukut, who retired from active service in the University in 2005. In this volume, we have eighteen papers. This volume as already stated is in honour of Dr. Senam Ukut and Okokon Akpan has provided his biographical profile.
